History of Champery

The quaint Swiss ski resort of Champery lies at the foot of the spectacular Dents du Midi and Dents Blanches mountain ranges. The original hamlet expanded following the opening of the lavish Hotel Dents du Midi back in 1857, and in 1969 Champery proudly claimed its place as part of the Portes du Soleil which boasts 650km of outstanding skiing terrain. The village of Champery has longstanding agricultural and artisan industries, which continue to thrive today, and it is exceptionally proud to have successfully preserved the traditional Swiss architecture that really gives character to this endearing village. The bustling streets of Champery are lined with traditional wood chalets and alluring shops where native art and local farm fresh produce can be purchased.
